I'm an author with Ten Speed Press/Crown Publishing, writer and blogger. My work currently appears in Better Homes and Gardens, Food Republic, Virginia Living Magazine, Chile Pepper Magazine, DRAFT, Gadling, NPR, Eatocracy, Saveur, Away, We Network, Richmond Times Dispatch, Associated Press, Washington Post and Richmond Magazine. Judged The James Beard Awards 2011 (Wine and Spirits) which was very cool. Have a master's degree in creative writing from Virginia Commonwealth University and participated in the Symposium for Professional Food Writers at The Greenbrier (2006). As a culinary instructor, I created and taught over 350 cooking classes for Sur La Table and Williams and Sonoma. I also trained at the ICE in NYC. Got some media experience which includes television and radio and even co-hosted a show on TLC for a time. Other media include: CMT, NPR, Sirius, APR, Virginia This Morning and lots of radio. I started Fatback and Foie Gras to share great recipes, fun travel spots and to connect with other folks who love food, cooking and seeing the world. I hope you'll join me.
